You receive from the world what you give to the world. The point I, too, have learned is not to pay back kindness but to pass it on.
Any act of appreciation affirms our connection to each other. It validates us and also expands who we are in the world. The next time you find yourself surrounded by darkness in the middle of the storm and everything is at its absolute worst, take a moment to give thanks. It will get better.
