Princeton mom and recent Operation Smile “Humanitarian of the Year” Barbara Majeski has committed to raise a record-breaking $1M in a single day on Saturday, June 6 for the “Day of Smiles” – a nationwide fundraiser for Operation Smile. Last week, Barb committed to beat last year’s one-day total by nearly 4 times the amount, with a goal of $500K – and challenged J&J CEO Alex Gorsky to match that amount to bring the day’s total to $1M.
WHO: Barbara Majeski, local philanthropist, mom of 3, and founder of the Majeski Foundation, along with 2,000 volunteers from Cydcor Inc. Growing up in Princeton, NJ with a brother with special needs, Barb is an outspoken champion for others like him.
WHAT: Barbara and her nationwide team will go door to door to raise money and awareness for Operation Smile, the world’s largest medical charity of its kind providing free cleft lip and palate surgery and care – with a goal of raising $550K in a single day.
WHY: Operation Smile is the world’s largest medical charity of its kind, providing free cleft surgery and care. Since 2010, Barbara has helped raise over $550K to sponsor three medical missions.
