Yes, this small school in Jersey City, with the powerhouse basketball team led by legendary Coach Bob Hurley, is the same school that also educates young men and women who are not athletes. The mission of The Guild: Create & operate a state-wide organization of women to support the overall mission of St. Anthony High School, with special emphasis on the female students, through increasing awareness, outreach, and fund raising. The Guild accomplishes its mission through several initiatives:
An annual Girls’ Career Day, to be held this year on April 22nd.
An annual luncheon – to be held this year on May 6th at the Maplewood Country Club. The 2015 Keynote Speaker will be Emmy and Peabody Award-winning journalist, documentary producer, prominent trial attorney, author, and teacher, Jack Ford.
Three scholarships for girls from the Junior Class to the Girls’ Career Institute at Douglass College, Rutgers, New Brunswick, to be held in June.
In an age when so many Catholic schools across our nation are struggling to survive, St. Anthony High School often faces the same challenges but continues to forge ahead toward a bright future and another generation of graduates.

The school is co-educational.
Of the school’s roughly 220 students, many come from families that are living below the poverty line.
The school has to raise nearly $1.5 million each year to keep tuition affordable.
A strategic business plan and strong leadership make the difference in a viable vision for the future. Although a small non-profit, the school is run as a business so that benefactors are confident in their investment.
The school’s nationally recognized boys’ basketball program has a record of 26 State parochial titles (the most in the nation), and have recently achieved their second concurrent undefeated championship season – making it seven undefeated seasons in their history.
