Azerbaijani fashion designer, Rufat Ismayil of AFFFAIR, showed his Spring Summer 2019 Collection, “Power of Fire”, on Day 2 of NYFW. Ismayil is the first designer to represent his home country at New York Fashion Week.

Throughout the runway show Ismayil’s theme was apparent as silhouettes had a very goddess like appearance, and made powerful entrances accompanied by music that had whispers of AFFAIR in the background. Luxurious materials like crêpe chiffon, silk, stonewashed silk, semi-precious gemstones, and embellishments contributed to the modern maximalist feel embodied by AFFFAIR. For the Spring/Summer 2019 season, the label chose to use gold, black mixed, emerald, and denim with accents of semi-precious gemstones in natural tones.
The SS19 collection was full of daring cutouts, plunging necklines, and sexy yet luxurious details. Embellishments lined the waists of several gowns and statement bejeweled shoulder pads were a standout feature on select looks.
The AFFFAIR brand was originally and continues to be inspired by women who are both sophisticated and powerful, yet very feminine and desirable. Each model on the runway embodied a sense of confidence, attracting attention by their presence evoked by stepping into an AFFFAIR ensemble.

The designer aims to continue to build AFFFAIR as a global brand while designing for sophisticated, visionary women worldwide who have a great sense of style. AFFFAIR Haute Couture SS19 will be available at AFFFAIR atelier and selected multi-brand stores in Azerbaijan, Italy, Saudi Arabia and Turkey.
Notable attendees included Allison Holker (ABC’s Dancing with the Stars, Host of Disney Weddings) and Rydel Lynch (Singer, R5).
