Eva is a bestselling erotica writer, as well as a single mother raising her daughter in Brooklyn. When she runs into Shane, an award-winning novelist, at a literary event, their chemistry is palpable. This is not the first time they’ve met, but it is the first time they’ve seen each other in 15 years, back when they were teenagers and spent a passionate week together. Their long-ago connection is still evident in their writing, but can they reconnect now? Another hot summer week can only tell.

Tia’s award-winning novel, “The Perfect Find,” will become a film produced by Netflix and starring Gabrielle Union.

G. P. Putnam’s Sons

A former sitcom star, Patrick’s new role these days is as the fun “guncle”—gay uncle—of young Maisie and Grant. Aside from spending time with them during the holidays or on the odd weekend visit, he doesn’t know much about taking care of his brother’s kids. When tragic circumstances unfold, Patrick is faced with temporary parenthood for the summer. He quickly realizes that being the fun guncle is no longer enough—now he needs to grow up and step up for his niece and nephew.

This is a funny and heart-warming novel about family coming together in difficult times.

Poppy and Alex have been best friends since college. They’re very different people, but that doesn’t stop them from enjoying every minute of the weeklong summer vacation they’ve been taking for the past 10 years. That is, until that one vacation two years ago that ended their friendship. Even though Poppy’s life is pretty great otherwise, she feels stuck. She realizes the last time she was really happy, it was on that trip with Alex, and so she convinces him to take one last trip together. Is a week enough time for Poppy to mend their friendship—especially since there’s something else between the two of them that could get in the way?

This is a great page-turner to take with you on your own vacation.

Henry Holt and Co.

Like many women, Jen Dixon has a lot on her plate. On the family front, she’s got her hands full with a husband, two adult children, a middle schooler, and a toddler grandchild—not to mention her own aging parents. As she pedals her way to spin instructor certification, she has acquired a superfan in her class—who just so happens to be her husband’s crazy ex. She also takes her role as snarky class mom rather seriously. When the PTA president tasks her with raising $10,000 for the fifth-grade class, she is ready to lead WeFUKCT (We Fundraise Until Kingdom Come Team) to victory. Amid the hilarious chaos of her life, Jen proves that with the right pair of yoga pants, anything is possible.

This hilarious novel is the third in Laurie’s hysterical “Class Mom” series.

Ever wonder what happens to the surviving heroine in a horror movie after the credits roll? It’s likely there’s a big therapy bill involved. For years, Lynette Tarkington has been attending group therapy sessions with other real-life “final girls.” When one of the members doesn’t show up for a meeting, they know their luck has run out for real. It’s time to fight for survival one more time.

Horror film fans will enjoy this darkly humorous thriller that has been already been optioned for a TV series.

Vallori Thomas is the epitome of joyful energy and passion. A former executive for a top fashion house, she went on to start a non-profit helping women and families. She is also an entrepreneur and the creator of WOW Coaching and Consulting. But Vallori didn’t always feel on top of her game, and she describes a time when she felt her life hit rock bottom.

“It was not a comfortable place,” she says. “It was a place that I knew I didn’t belong.”

It took a major mindset shift to pull herself out of that despair. It started when a friend asked the question: “What do you really want?” Vallori had never been asked that question before in earnest, and it led to a conversation in which she articulated dreams and goals she had previously only thought about.

The perspective that helped Vallori reclaim her life’s purpose is what she calls “Possibilitology.” It starts with possibility thinking, which involves an exploration of what is possible in your life. Through a series of solutions-focused questions, you can then “engage in transforming what is into what might be,” she explains.

This “can-do mindset” is the basis of her book of the same name, which she describes as “reflections from my life in building myself from bottom and reacclimating myself into the full stream of life and actually speaking my vision, my truth and sharing my identity and my thoughts.”

Q: What would you like to say to your former self?

A: I would tell myself to know my truth and love my truth and to have courage in all things.

Jojo Moyes fans, rejoice! If you loved “Me Before You” based on the novel of the same name, then you’ll be thrilled to know that JoJo’s 2011 novel “The Last Letter from Your Lover” will also be adapted for the screen. Netflix and StudioCanal are producing a film with an all-star cast that includes Shailene Woodley (“Big Little Lies”), Felicity Jones (“The Theory of Everything”), and Callum Turner (“The Capture”). Felicity plays Ellie, a London journalist who finds a series of letters detailing an ill-fated affair in the 1960s and is determined to find out what happened to the lovers (Shailene and Callum). The movie is directed by Augustine Frizzell (“Euphoria and “Never Goin’ Back).
