Benoit Transports Diners Straight to Paris

Located a mere few blocks from Central Park lies Benoit, a Parisian-style bistro designed to transport diners right to the metropolis of France. While traveling out of the country still poses some risks and roadblocks, Benoit is your next best bet for fulfilling your French satiations.

As equally stunning on the outside as it is on the inside, Benoit offers customers both indoor and outdoor dining options for lunch, dinner and weekend brunch. Brought to you by chef Alain Ducasse, the restaurant has been a French dining staple in the city for the past five years. The restaurant serves up classic French fare, including croque monsieurs, French onion soup, and cassoulet. While you certainly can’t go wrong with anything you order here, we recommend starting off with the tarte flambée, the French take on a flatbread, covered in cheese, onions and bacon. A super unique must-have on the menu is the quenelles de brochet, a lobster dumpling in nantua sauce (a creamy, lobster tomato sauce). You’ve never had anything quite like it, and although it is rich, it is worth trying.

Pair your meal with one of the many wines from their exhaustive menu, or opt for a cocktail — Le Jardin is a refreshing option for a warm night, while Say Fizzz!!! is a fun, flavorful tipple.

Make sure to come hungry because you would be remiss not to stay for dessert. We all know that the French have mastered the fine art of pastry, so order up their extravagant chocolate soufflé, and make sure to wash it down with some of their pistachio ice cream. It’s hands down the best I’ve ever had.

The food here made us fall in love, but the service will keep us coming back for more. You will find none of the pretentiousness that some French restaurants are known for here, instead, the staff are courteous, knowledgable, and eager to offer recommendations from the menu. Cinq étoiles!
