Brush Your Skin


Dry skin brushing, a technique also known as lymphatic skin brushing is a rather simple process that, removes dead skin cells and promotes smoother, softer, radiant and firmer skin,  If you’ve never tried it, you should.

I’ve been dry brushing for many years and my skin is relatively firm. But, I won’t say it’s solely because of the brushing. Genetics and other factors, such as exercise and nutrition also play a contributing role. But, done consistently and accurately it,

– improves digestion.

– increases circulation and  lymphatic drainage.

– removes toxins, which results in improved kidney function.

– increases skin’s elasticity.

– rejuvenates the nervous system.

Here are some skin brushing tips to help you obtain best results.

1. Use a natural, bristled body brush.  The brush should be firm and stiff, but not hard.

2. Brush your dry skin firmly, but not harshly. Start with the feet, and moving upwards, use long ( i’ve also been told short ),  sweeping strokes toward the heart.  From the shoulders, brush down, toward the heart. This sweeping motion will quickly transport lymph fluid to the heart. Do not brush back and forth.

3. If possible, brush in the morning before you shower, and at least once a day. However, twice is encouraged.

4. Avoid brushing areas that are bruised or broken.

5. Keep your brush clean by rinsing frequently with soap and warm water.
