Earlier this week, non-profit organization God’s Love We Deliver hosted its 12th annual Golden Heart Awards at Spring Studios in Manhattan. The charity, founded by designer Michael Kors, is the New York metropolitan area’s leading provider of life-sustaining meals and nutrition counseling for people living with severe illnesses. They cook and deliver nutritious meals to people living with more than 200 individual diagnoses, and to date, has delivered over 21 million meals to its clients.
Their prestigious gala began with a fun cocktail reception which was sponsored by Tito’s Handmade Vodka with specialty drinks by Dante NYC. During the cocktail hour, tastings from some of the city’s most beloved restaurants were available, including outposts such as Katz’s Delicatessan, Murray’s Cheese, Gramercy Tavern, Empellon, Shake Shack and Antica Pesa. Casamgios also served up an exclusive tequila bar.
During the lively cocktail hour, red carpet guests and honorees arrived, including honorary chairman Anna Wintour, Priyanka Chopra, Ashley Graham, Neal Patrick Harris, David Burtka, Walt Frasier, Kristaps Porzingis, Iman, Donna Karan, Nathan Lane, Naomi Watts and many more famous faces.
During the dinner and awards show, award winners were presented with their Golden Heart awards. The Michael Kors Awards for Outstanding Community Service went to our favorite great showman, Hugh Jackman, who sang during his speech, the Golden Heart Award for Lifetime Achievement went to Tony Kushner, and the Golden Heart Award for Outstanding Volunteerism went to Jamie Niven.
Following the award ceremony there was a live auction conducted by Lydia Fenet, where amazing experiences like a home cooked meal by Ina Garten were auctioned off.
