Known as the “dim sum specialists,” the Hong Kong-based chain Tim Ho Wan has finally made its way to the US. They seem to have settled in more than comfortably in New York, as the restaurant already promotes lines out the door and hours-long waits. But if you’re patient, the food inside will make you forget those troubles. Tim Ho Wan has earned the title of the “world’s cheapest Michelin starred restaurant” for good reason—their infamous BBQ pork buns are addictive, and all of their dim sum comes out hot, fresh, and tasty. The ample offerings make it hard to pick and choose, but with unbeatably low prices you can sample as much as you want without even breaking a $50. We rounded out our meal there with warm green tea and sweet French toast with custard filling, a New York exclusive.
