Chrissy Dress, Spa Owner + Breast Cancer Survivor, dedicating Breast Cancer Awareness Month to Making  a Difference

By Dr. Robi Ludwig

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The national, annual campaign raising attention about breast cancer health and prevention.

Chrissy Dress, owner of the award-winning, trendy spa, CURE de Repos, is known for selling high end products and for providing an exceptional experience for her clients. This month in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month, Dress has turned her attention to providing “TLC” (tender loving care)  treatment for those suffering from this disease.

Dress, a breast cancer survivor herself, has been in the beauty industry for over a decade. She prides herself on weaving new era concepts with a special magical touch for her clientele. Her impressive mantra and mission statement is to exceed her clients most profound expectations. And her goal is especially obvious this month.

During Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Chrissy Dress and her Chestnut Hill spa, Cure de Repos, is in sync with the national campaign, to raise, uplift and inspire those who are diagnosed with breast cancer.

I interviewed Dress to learn more about why Breast Cancer Awareness is so important to her and how her spa Cure de Repos is dedicated to making a difference.

Dr. RL: Chrissy, what does breast cancer awareness month mean to you?

CD: Breast cancer awareness month is personal to me, as I am a young survivor by early detection and in remission, for a year, as of this past August. Bringing awareness to this silent killer is important, as it not only affects women in menopause and post, but it is very much present in our younger generations. Without awareness modern technology may be challenging, coupled with complications without early detection.

Dr. RL: What motivates you as a business owner to get involved and raise awareness about this important health topic?

CD: As I have mentioned above, I am a survivor, and several women in my family are as well. Interestingly, in my family’s case our form of breast cancer was not genetically linked. As an Award-Winning Day Spa owner, I have a platform to collaborate with clients who are currently going through treatment, and post treatment. I was certified in oncology aesthetics for many years prior to my breast cancer diagnoses. It is important to understand how to treat a client in each stage of their cancer both emotionally and physically.

I am currently in school to receive my Aesthetician Teacher’s license. When I graduate, I plan to create a certification course on Oncology Aesthetics and continue my enthusiastic mission to share and teach this important aesthetic specialty.

Dr. RL: You discovered a product, a luxury facial that is impressive for cancer patients, can you tell me more about this product?

CD: The Swiss Collagen Infusion facial is excellent for clients who are currently going through radiation, and Chemo, as well as for their post treatment. This treatment is a Collagen-boosting treatment which helps to plump up and fill-in lines and wrinkles. Fortified with a highly concentrated combination of marine collagen and hyaluronic acid, increases moisture retention, stimulates fullness, and firms the skin. Even my driest of clients who are not cancer patients or survivors love this treatment. It is universally the most quenching facial currently on our menu.

Dr. RL How long does this treatment take?

CD: 90 min.

Dr. RL: When is the ideal time for cancer patients to receive this treatment?

CD: Anytime they feel they need a little TLC. But it is always important to check with the doctor’s care team first.

Dr. RL: What type of feedback have you received from your clients who received this special facial from your boutique?

CD: Clients absolutely RAVE about this luxury treatment, as its high-grade marine collagen mimics the skin’s natural collagen and there are lasting effects of hydration for the driest of skins out there. This treatment is even safe for vegans as the collagen is plant based.

Dr. RL: Where can people find you and your salon if they would like to learn more about you and the luxury services at Cure de Repos?

CD: People can find us at our fabulous new location in Chestnut hill Philadelphia.  If they want a sneak peek before coming in, they can find us on IG: @curederepos and our website: www.curederepos.com
