Anyone who knows me personally is aware that I’m a bit stubborn when it comes to going to a salon.
I haven’t had my hair professionally cut or colored in years. Yep, I do it all myself. Trims, highlight, treatments, and hair color. I honestly don’t have the slightest idea what I’m doing or had an ounce of training but I often get compliments on my hair and I just stick to what works.
So, I’m a bit of an expert when it comes to at-home hair color.
I have tried just about every brand on the market and have been self-dying for like, 20 years. I have also messed up and botched the job more times than I care to admit.
If you prefer to go it alone when it comes to dying your hair (not for the faint of heart I tell you!) then I’ve got a new product to tell you about.
A few days ago I tried the new Garnier OLIA Oil Powered Permanent Color (available at most pharmacies and grocery stores nationwide) and I’m in awe with how much healthier my hair looks since using it. Crazy right?
My hair actually feels softer and bouncier! And a few other things I loved about it: the smell (the floral scent was kind of pretty) and the thick velvet-like consistency didn’t drip all over.
Oh, and I love the color– Medium Golden Brown– came out vibrant, even and phew, not at all brassy. (The biggest fail in home-color for me.) I almost feel like I’m in one of those silly hair commercials because I keep running my fingers through my hair….YES!!!!
