Since my grilling game is less than par (meaning I don’t even know how to light it!) it’s safe to say what I lack in BBQ prowess I brilliantly make up for in my cocktail mixing skills. I’m a self-confessed Margarita snob…I very picky about my tequila and the recipes and ingredients I use must strike the perfect balance of sweet, sour and a touch of spicy. My most recent discovery is Cutwater Rayador Tequila Blanco and although it tastes so smooth all on its own, it the perfect main ingredient in my favorite summer sip:
2 oz Cutwater Rayador Tequila Blanco
1 oz fresh lime juice
1/2 oz agave syrup
1/2 oz watermelon juice
*optional dash of spicy bitters
Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker. Shake until cold and strain over fresh ice in a Tajin rimmed glass. Garnish with a watermelon slice.
Cutwater Spirits’ Rayador Tequila begins with 100% blue agave that’s harvested from Jalisco. It’s slow cooked in traditional brick ovens, open fermented, and double distilled in traditional stills, giving it a sweet agave finish. Available for purchase on ReserveBar.
