On Wednesday, November 14, England’s 8th Earl and Countess of Carnarvon of Highclere Castle, which is known worldwide as the notable filming location of the Emmy Award-winning TV series and soon to be movie, Downton Abbey, welcomed 150 business leaders, industry members and socialists to an all exclusive cocktail celebration here in New York City.
The evening, which was held at the Soho Grand Hotel, was a celebration announcing the expansion of the Earl and Countesses new entrepreneurial venture of their Highclere Castle Gin, launching in 2019, as well as the success of their internationally acclaimed Highclere Castle Cigar, a premium cigar blend in the elegant style of cigars from the early 1900s.
The celebration consisted of an intimate reception featuring a private meet-and-greet with Lord and Lady Carnarvon, followed by cocktails, hors d’oeurvres, which included anchovy caviar toast, lobster rolls and an exclusive sampling of Highclere Castle Cigars on the Grand’s Penthouse Suite Terrace.
Guests were engaged with a world preview of the Highclere Castle Gin. This exclusive gin is produced in England’s oldest gin distillery and is made using botanicals grown on the Highclere estate. The new spirit is best paired with their award-winning Highclere Castle Cigars, which are made with notes of pepper, citrus, leather and fireplace.
Present at the event was Adam Von Gootkin, Highclere Castle Cigars and Spirits co-founder and CEO and Nicholas Melillo a world-renowned cigar creator.
