Everyone’s Favorite Whimsical Gin Brand Introduces Horatio

 

Hendrick’s Gin, known for its unusual flair for oddities and eccentricity, is at it once again, this time, making its foray into technology. The quirky, yet delicious gin brand unveiled a new division of electronics, dubbed The Hendrick’s Department of Not-So-Convenient Technology.

The tongue-in-cheek tech division is sending a clear message to mass-produced modern electronics with their offbeat gadgets. And first up on the roster is Horatio, an elaborate voice activation device that serves as a counterpart to smart devices like Alexa and Google Home. “Key features of this wondrous contraption include finger-powered activation (freeing your voice for other things), a martini holder and endless bragging rights at parties. You might hear Horatio, a chipper fellow with a delightful British accent, utter anything from “The fitness center opens at the ungodly hour of 5am” to “Let’s just say it is a good day to carry an umbrella in one hand and a cocktail in the other.””

This isn’t Hendrick’s first foray into obscure devices, either. They’ve released oddly wild contraptions in the past, like pedal-powered cocktail machines, hot air balloons and other inefficient, yet intriguing products. While they might not make much sense, they have spunk and spirit, much like the gin itself. We can’t wait to see what they come up with next.
