Exploring Boston

A historic and vibrant city, Boston is known for a variety of things, both entertaining and educational. From football to baseball, to basketball, hockey, and soccer, the city is never short on sports, or places in which to watch. As one of Boston’s biggest attractions, the city served as the backdrop for the television series “Cheers.” Here you can pull up a stool at either the original or replica location of this famous watering hole that served as the show’s inspiration, just don’t be disappointed if not everyone there knows your name!

Boston’s historical significance dates back hundreds of year. Not only was it one of the earliest cities in the American colonies, it was the site for the first public school which opened up in April 1635, and it is currently home to the oldest city park, the Boston Common, which was founded in 1634. The deep rooted history of the city can be further explored in the fantastic museums.

Whether or not it’s your first time here, there is something for everyone who visits. With so many things to see and do, places to stay, and restaurants to explore, you’ll definitely need to plan your next visit while experiencing your first.

One area you’ll want to check out now is the Seaport district. Having recently undergone a dramatic transformation in the past two years, the waterfront area which is part of South Boston boasts numerous restaurants and hotels as well as the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center. Located directly across the street is the Element Boston Seaport Hotel, an eco-friendly destination that offers its guests too many wonderful amenities to pass up.

From the oversized guest rooms with views of the city, a fully equipped kitchen, loaner bikes to explore the area, to a complimentary breakfast daily and an evening Relax reception, this Marriott owned property has got you covered. And as a pet-friendly hotel, they make sure your four-legged friend is taken care of as well. Complimentary treats and water are located at the entrance making it a great pit stop for your pooch.

As you explore the heart of Boston, the W Hotel, constructed of all-glass, offers up a cozy lounge to unwind, grab a bite, and listen to music. From small plates, like avocado toast, and a variety of cocktails, you can go from brunch (think mimosas) to late night dancing (there’s a DJ Thursday – Saturday nights), all in this beautiful location. Guests and visitors alike can also pamper themselves at the infamous Bliss Spa located inside the hotel. Boston is a great walking city so chances are after a day of exploring on foot, kicking back at the spa will be on your “things to do” list.

Another great dining spot is located right inside The Ritz-Carlton. The Artisan Bistro serves up a modern take on the classic bistro making it a favorite amongst visitors and locals alike. The farm to table restaurant offers a warm and relaxing experience along with delicious food, and that includes the desserts, so be sure to save some room. Whether you choose to reserve a table or grab a seat at the bar, the menu remains the same.

Along with the many great restaurants and hotels, exploring Boston couldn’t be easier especially with the various fun tours offered. If you want to explore Boston by land and water, the Duck Tours is what you’ll want to book. There are also many trolley tours which have the added bonus of allowing you to jump on and off wherever you choose.

And of course a trip to Boston wouldn’t be complete without a little shopping. If you head on over to Newbury Street you’ll find endless boutique stores and eateries. If your taste is a little more vintage, Charles Street offers up some of the best antique shopping.

Regardless of where you stay and play, Boston has something for everyone.
