Fashion to Fight HIV/AIDS: Bringing Work to Women in Small African Villages

Until There’s A Cure is a national organization that dedicates themselves to eradicating HIV and AIDS. The organization raises awareness and funds to combat the AIDS pandemic by selling jewelry, which in turn gives jobs to local African Women.

Until is a jewelry line that reinvests over 88% of their proceeds from every sale back to their cause. The jewelry ranges from their signature unisex cuff available in all metals, to handmade African jewelry pieces. And all are priced from $5 to $150.

The  foundation was started by two mothers who wanted to prevent the long-lasting effects of the virus on their children. They used the bracelet as their primary source of revenue. It is important that UNTIL  continues to sell these bracelets to reach their goals: funding research and development of a vaccine, education, prevention, and direct care services. Their  product line has expanded to include many products made by HIV+ craftspeople.  By partnering with different groups around the global, we are helping to support AIDS care, prevention, education and vaccine research and development.
