The time of year has arrived when you have to think about what outfit will make a great first date and first impression. Here are so many fall fashion trends this season, from the twisted trench, form-fitting long dresses, black-on-black everything and 80s-inspired looks.
One of the best things about fall fashion is you can layer clothes to create unique and stylish looks on the same date. You can turn a fall first-date look from classy to chic and dressy to casual by adding or removing clothing and accessories.
There are no limits on creativity and colors for fall fashion. The diversity and variety of stylish fall date outfits inspired by the latest fashion trends will keep you warm, confident, and turning heads—all at the same time!
Here are a few first-date fall fashion looks we love, along with some fantastic fall fashion tips.
Stylish and comfortable loungewear
Let’s start with one of my favorite looks by Venao Activewear. Think casual loungewear paired with a bomber jacket, leather jacket, oversized shirt, or stylish blazer. I love this look and combination because it allows you to take off or add layers on your date depending on your activity, mood, and body temperature. Anytime you feel hot or want to reveal a little more of yourself, you can remove the outer layer.
Take it from Tatiana Venao, the founder and owner of Venao Custom Swimwear & Activewear, herself. “If you plan a casual or active date, you could wear a cargo jacket or a loose, open button-up. The intention is to cover your body, yet it gives it enough peekaboo that your date can still see your shape and gives you enough coverage if needed. If you feel comfortable enough to remove your jacket/top, you’ve suddenly turned a casual look into an outfit, and your date will have a hard time keeping his eyes off you. If you are striving for an edgy look, choose
a leather jacket, and have fun with your accessories.”
Tatiana suggests nude, mocha, or olive as standard fall colors, or red or blue if you want to make a bold fashion statement and memorable first impression. Nineties fashion and leather jackets are back big-time in 2022, as seen on fall fashion runways, so this is a must for a first-date look idea. “I would wear a jacket with high heels or short black booties. To elongate your legs, I would choose nude heels or open-toe shoes. A sharp blazer paired with chunky chains, or a colorful statement piece paired with a matching purse would elevate this look. This outfit also acts like shapewear and has a way of giving you an instant breast lift, butt lift, and tummy tuck.”
Fashionable accessories to boost your fall style
Finding the perfect outfit for a first date can be tricky for most of us. You want to look your best but don’t want to overshadow your date or seem too formal. The best way to boost your style is to choose fall-fabulous accessories that match your date activity and personality.
Canada Bliss, a luxury line of crochet hats and accessories worn by celebrities, recently made its debut in Hollywood at the Golden Globes. I love these custom handmade hats because they use only the softest materials like baby alpaca, ethically sourced to create pieces that look and feel luxurious. They are perfect for fall Fashion and first dates.
I’ve known Karen V. Miguel, the owner and founder of Canada Bliss since high school. I couldn’t wait to get her tips on the perfect match for a fall first date outfit.
Your hats are worn by many celebrities. Which pieces are the perfect complement for a casual first date look?
I recommend the “Fundamental” hat, one of my original classics. It’s a unisex hat that is classy, elegant, and timeless.
Black, grey, cream, and burgundy are our top choices for fall. Trends in colors I see lately are lilac and rose.
What would you recommend for something sporty yet feminine in your collection? And do you have a hat for a dressy option?
The “Dreams” hat is my choice here as it incorporates more of a cable knit. It’s our most popular pom-pom hat. The messy bun is perfect to wear after a yoga session or an activity date. Our clients shared they often wear their hair up. We created this for warmth, fashion, and the love of messy buns.
If you’re going for something formal or want to jazz up an outfit, the “Bijou Floral” is a statement piece. I hand-crochet the entire hat and manually sew the jewels on myself.
I believe the diversity, playfulness and variety in fall outfits will turn heads for your first date. The key is choosing something to keep you warm, matches your personality, and makes you feel confident!
