Flying to Washington DC by seaplane

On October 14th Tailwind launched the first-ever Manhattan to Washington DC Seaplane Service. During Take off in the East River at Manhattan’s Skyport Marina the flightroute provides an amazing view over New York City, making it an unforgetable experience. After a flight duration of about 75-85 minutes the plane lands at Washington Dulles International Aiport (IAD) on Jet Aviation FBO’s private aircraft terminal.

In addition to Washington DC, passengers can fly to nine other destinations from the Manhattan base. Including Boston Harbor – Fan Pier Marina (BNH), East Hampton, Sag Harbor, Shelter Island, Montauk, Provincetown, Plymouth, and Bridgeport. For commuters, Tailwind Air offers heavily discounted prepaid books.

We are confident that our Washington area IAD service will resonate well with our customers and are looking forward to providing this unique service. The ability to take off from a private terminal at a major international airport and land on the water in Manhattan will be a time-saving benefit for our customers”, says Tailwind Air CEO Alan Ram. Check-in cutoff is just 10 minutes prior departure, making it a  fast, stress-free and comfortable way to travel.
