Her single “Make A Wish” debuted at #7 on Billboard and lead her to become a board director for the Make-A-Wish foundation, a position which she still carries to this day. Her passion for marrying her musical pursuits with philanthropy also extends into her support for the military. Her song “Hometown Heroes” was used in a campaign for the Air National Guard, which involved Bryna embarking on a seven-country USO tour where she sang for thousands of U.S. troops.

BELLA chatted with the Billboard Chart Topper about her rise to fame in the music industry:

You’ve toured the world with some of the biggest names in music – how did you get started in the industry?

I’ve always loved music and entertainment. I love making people smile, touching their hearts and hopefully making them feel something Special with my music. It all started in the basement of our home in Maryland doing shows for my parents…several shows a day at 25 cents a show!!! Hehe

Really working on my craft, I performed at The Kennedy Center, an off-Broadway show, graduated from The University of the Arts, and headed to Nashville and Los Angeles to pursue my dream as a recording artist.  As I said, I love helping people and giving back and one of the loves of my life is The Make-A-Wish Foundation. I have volunteered with many chapters, Nashville, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, and I have also sat on the board of The Mid-Atlantic Chapter.  I have done everything from making phone calls to going out and granting children’s wishes.  So being a musician, we like to write about our life experiences, I got together with a couple of my songwriter friends, Jeff Batson, Steve Williams, and my manager Roger Sarchet and we wrote a song about these wonderful children with a dream. And truly, the rest is history.  We were in the studio working on the song and it caught the attention of several record executives and the dream took off!!! And I’ve been living it ever since…I’m extremely grateful and so honored to be able to live out my childhood dream.

Who are a few of your music idols and who are you still dying to work with?

Oh gosh…I have several music idols…Elvis Presley, Etta James, Pat Benetar, Dolly Parton, Olivia Newton-John. I love entertainers, especially ones that give back and help those in need.  I would love to work with Chris Stapleton, Grace Potter.  I love the edge they bring to their music.  You feel every word!!

Describe your sound and why it sets you apart.

My sound is kind of a “smushie” of a lot of different influences.  I love to sing music, but I also love to listen.  I feel our music is  edgy, sassy, emotional, a blend of country, dance, pop, rock.  i also love standards and have a project in the wing produced by legendary producer Peter Asher (James Taylor, Linda Ronstadt) I can’t wait to get out. Doing differs genres of music you love for audiences is the best. I want people to feel something when I open my mouth!!
