Unless you’ve been living under a rock, sans Netflix, you’ve seen the incredibly talented, blue eyed beauty, Madeleine Arthur. Madeleine has graced your television screen in countless shows and movies, like the Netflix smash To All The Boys I Loved Before, as well as Tim Burton’s Big Eyes, and ABC’s The Family. With a slew of projects in the works, including reprising her role as Christine – opposite her real life besties Lana Condor and Noah Centineo – in the TATBILB sequel P.S I Still Love You, Madeleine is someone who should be on your radar.

You are involved in so many amazing movies right now and continue to have more features to come. Tell us how you got involved in acting and what your favorite part of the job is.

Growing up I was enrolled in theatre camps and as much as I enjoyed them, I was more committed to gymnastics and the violin. Then, when I was twelve, I became engrossed in a book on theatre and felt inspired to take more acting classes…a lot more acting classes! By the time I was sixteen I completely shifted my focus to acting! I knew for whatever crazy reason it was what I wanted to do with my life.

I love so many aspects of the job! Besides getting to explore different facets of human behavior and tell stories that hopefully have an impact on people, I really love all of the wonderful people you meet in front of and behind the camera. People in film come from all walks of life and you learn so much from everyone. I feel like everyone enriches each other’s lives.

Amazing! You have a new movie coming out soon with Nicolas Cage, “Color Out of Space” How is it working with such an iconic actor in Hollywood?

A thrill! He’s such a legend and I’m a big fan. Like so many people of my generation, I grew up watching “National Treasure”, and “Moonstruck” and “Adaptation” are two of my favorite movies. Nic’s a genuine professional. He came to set with so many ideas for each scene and I really enjoyed learning from him. His ability to improv, to keep each scene alive and fresh with every take and use anything as inspiration was fascinating and so engaging. It was also fun to hear about his knowledge of movies – he is a massive cinephile. It was an absolute hoot to work with him!

We see that you have so many projects that are in the works, how are you able to balance everything with work and still have time or yourself?

Even if my schedule’s really full I try to carve out a little bit of time for myself to stay refreshed and energized. Walking, exercising, reading and meditating are a few ways that allow me find me to balance and help refuel my coffers.

What is the project that you are most excited to be working on currently?

Currently, I’m working on a comedy series called “Chad” on TBS. The series is created by and starring, Nasim Pedrad, who I think is a comedic genius. The show is hilarious, and I love my character, she is so wonderfully odd and very different from anyone I’ve ever played.

“To All the Boys I Loved Before” is one of the biggest movies on Netflix, with Netflix being such a big platform in the industry right now, how does it feel to be apart of something so popular?

It’s an honor. Netflix gave “the little movie that could” a platform on which is could really soar. The meteoric rise that the movie has achieved has been more than I think anyone could have imagined. Netflix has also helped resurrect the rom com genre which is so lovely! They gave us, the actors, the opportunity to expand characters we thought we would only play in one move over three… I mean, what a dream for an actor!

The premiere date for the sequel to “To All the Boys I Loved Before” is set just days before Valentines Day, do you have any fun Valentine’s Day plans?

I’m going to be in Portland filming then, so that will be a good celebration of the love of movie making!
