You are currently juggling a busy career: How have your daily routines changed since launching your business?
Since launching our company 10 years ago, our lives have taken a 180-degree turn. We’ve expanded the businesses over the course of time, so its imperative that we need to be flexible in our schedule to accommodate everything that may need our attention – from a last minute buyer meeting to a last minute stylist request, or even a production emergency.

As a wife/husband team how do you stay connected to each other?
While we work together to run Deepa Gurnani, our responsibilities within Deepa Gurnani are clearly divided and separate. We have our strengths and we want to be able to maximize that while being able to own a certain aspect of the work alone. However, we never fail to use each other as a sounding board and creative ideas off of each other on a daily basis. This keeps us connected. But on a personal level, we make time for yoga together every morning, which helps us, stay grounded and spiritually connected.
What is your definition of beauty?
Beauty is a relative term. We find beauty and inspiration in everyday objects.
What would you recommend as your one “must have” fashion and beauty item for every woman?
A statement accessory, and a beautifully hand embroidered Deepa Gurnani completes any look!
What’s your favorite part of NYC?
While each area has a distinct style. We spend a lot of time in TriBeCa as there is so much to discover. Between the people, ambiance, the architecture are a few things that have been truly inspiring for us! It really gets our creative juices flowing.
