Hand sanitizer is the must-have of 2020, and one brand is determined to go the extra mile to keep those in need safe and sound. H2One Hand Sanitizer donates a bottle of its safe, effective, premium product for every bottle sold online, and one of their main focuses is children. As kids begin going back to school this month, H2One will ensure they have clean and sanitized hands in the classrooms of almost 400 New York public schools.
H2One CEO and co-founder, Alfred Zaccagnino, says his product was born out of necessity: “As we all went through this pandemic, I had an early realization that there was going to be an urgent need for safe and quality hand sanitizer; there just wouldn’t be enough to go around. I wanted to form a team highly capable of creating the best product while also giving back to those most in need.”

The company has launched its unique giving back program by donating to New York’s Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club, San Francisco Marin Food Bank, and to 390 public schools in the NY Tri-State area. Future donations are planned for the region’s healthcare workers and first responders. They have partnered with a fellow New York based healthcare company, Prime Staffing, who are providing hundreds of nurses and healthcare workers to schools, to ensure classrooms are as safe as possible during this pandemic.
The idea of a business model with a “giving back” component is at the core of founder Alfred Zaccagnino’s life. A former air traffic controller, his life changed dramatically on 9/11 when he rushed down to volunteer at the site of the World Trade Center for 72 hours straight. He doesn’t remember how he got through those three days in the rubble of the WTC, but says from then on he decided to ensure his business ventures gave back to his community. He now has the chance to do that thanks to H2One’s donation program.
Zaccagnino says for hand sanitizers to become a part of everyday life, they must be appealing to users, as well as staying in compliance with important FDA, WHO and CDC guidelines. H2One has skin-friendly ingredients such as Aloe and Vitamin E as well as being available in: an awakening citrus or calming lavender scent. It contains 75% Ethyl Alcohol, surpassing CDC recommendations.
The company, which has recently been featured in Vogue, and GQ, has also created an animated video – aimed at children – to teach them the importance of clean hands as well as how to safely apply hand sanitizer. In the video, the H2One bottle becomes the teacher. It is hoped this kid-friendly video will encourage them to add this to their daily routine.
“As a father of two children, I want to ensure that all of our kids are safe in the classroom, and that they realize the importance of clean hands. Sanitizing their hands should ultimately become second nature, like tying their shoelaces,” says Zaccagnino – who is President and Founder of Samarian Group of Companies., which is lead investor in H2One.
