Wymara Resort & Villas, Turks + Caicos

Christina Stephens – Spa Director

“When you think about a spa, the most common elements are candlelight, soft music, plush robes and slippers, and aromatherapy — if you have access to these items at home, it will be a great way to set the tone.

One of my favorite DIY tips is to make a scrub with items you are likely to already have at home, such as sugar, coconut oil and olive oil, and if you have essential oils, you can add a few drops. I love using coffee grounds and olive oil, which is good for circulation. You can apply this in the shower.

Please note, you can mix and match the type of exfoliant and essential oils to suit your taste, as well as the ratio of exfoliant to carrier oil. I like to keep my mixtures in glass containers as the oils preserve longer.” – Christina Stephens, Spa Director.

Tropical Citrus Sugar Scrub

  • 5 drops of Lime essential oil
  • (You can also use the Zest & juice of 1 lime if you don’t have essential oils)

Directions:

  1. Mix together
  2. Apply in a circular motion

While they’re grounded, consumers can order Jade Mountain’s chocolate directly from the hotel’s websitefor safe shipment and delivery to their front door. Including a quote from their chef on the benefits of chocolate to help get through the chaos of today:

“Chocolate really is a comfort food; it makes one feel good. Rich dark chocolate is a mood booster, it offers emotional comfort. Chocolate promotes positive feelings as it helps in the release of multiple peptides of the brain and gut. Dark chocolate helps in the release of endorphins that affects the brain and helps in inducing a calming and soothing effect. Its abundant aromatic flavor seduces our mood and relieves stress within the first bite.” – Allen Susser, Chef and Chocolatier.
