Comic-Con, the largest pop culture event on the West Coast, once again descended upon San Diego over the weekend, and amidst all of the soirees, exhibits, panels and discussions, none was more coveted than Amazon’s Prime Video experience, which celebrated the new Amazon Original series The Boys and Carnival Row, as well as the upcoming fourth season of The Expanse.
With a cult like devotion, over 3,000 fans a day waited in line for more than 3 hours at the offsite location all week. The 60,000 square-foot immersive activation played host to three celeb-filled parties, with notable attendees such as Orlando Bloom, Cara Delevinge and Chase Crawford.
Here is the inside scoop:
RepublicanSan Diego Mayor Kevin Faulconer stopped by the Amazon Prime Video Experience for the Carnival Row activation – who Orlando Bloom claims to have run out of due to the immigration storyline.
Chace Crawford had a surprise birthday cake from the cast/crew of The Boys at the premiere.
The Director of The Boys introduced Chace and said “you loved him in Gossip Girls, but you will hate him in this series.”
Orlando Bloom and Cara Delevinge showed up in Cosplay costumes at the Carnival Row screening while guests enjoyed cocktails, chatted and danced to the music. Oblivious that the actors were among them, the director told the audience both Orlando & Cara were attending the EW party. Promising spectacle and delivering, the actors then took off their costumes and the crowd went wild. They introduced the series and sat in the front row to watch the screening amidst the guests.
The cast of The Expanse surprised the biggest cosplay fans when they went in the activation. https://www.instagram.com/expanseonprime/?hl=en
