New York’s hottest week of the year came and took over The Big Apple as elite designers, top models, celebrities and fashion connoisseurs all arrived for a weekend lineup of runway shows, parties and splurging on all things fashion.
On Saturday 7th, CHIARA BONI presented her Spring/Summer 2020 collection to a star-studded crowd. The collection, La Petite Robe envisioned the story of the Queen of Hearts: intriguing and elegant, she first lands in New York City and then conquers it.
Recollections of the magical atmosphere of Africa appeared on the runway with magnified wild animal patterns, ranging from leopard, giraffe and tiger prints. From the East, the Queen of Hearts brought exotic paisley motifs and Malaysian ikat patterns. From her travels in Mexico she found exotic butterflies in a myriad of colors and hues, inspiring an eye-catching allover macro-motif.
Models galore walked the runway. Among them, Maria Borges, Pat and Anna Cleveland effortlessly embodied the brand’s assertive femininity. Their outfits translated into versatile silhouettes, ranging from fitted shapes with belted details highlighting the waist, to edgy and boxy cuts. Floral applications appear on the shoulders and sleeves of column dresses and jumpsuits, while asymmetric cuts give a fresh and effortless appeal to handkerchief frocks worked in the new hyper soft slim jersey.
A plissé satin enhances the volume of black and white evening gowns, combining stretch jersey inserts on maxi dresses in a happy palette of coral, red, yellow, blue and green.
Glamorous, versatile, sometimes eccentric, the Queen of Hearts can surprise with cowboy-style accents: Texan boots and hats, scarves and backpacks in seasonal prints, extravagant earrings and sexy bustiers.
The Spring/Summer 2020 Chiara Boni La Petite Robe woman is fascinating and multifaceted; simultaneously juxtaposing country with metropolitan, the Queen of Hearts women who can effortlessly combine dusk and dawn in a chic, yet original way.
Chiara Boni arrived with an entourage of guests and friends who came in support of the designer. Notable guests included: Kerry Kennedy, Cara Kennedy Cuomo, Caroline Vreeland, Janet Montgomery, Kathrine Narducci, Nichole Galicia, Julie Mintz, Bojana Krsmanovic, Nibar Madar, Mollye Rogel, and Wendy Williams among others.
