Today we’re looking at the characteristics of Combination Skin. The last two posts addressed oily and normal skin type. Combination skin is characterized by medium pores, smooth and even texture, oily t-zone (forehead, nose and chin), and dry cheeks.
This skin can be difficult and frustrating to treat because oil-reducing products can over dry some areas and moisturizing products can cause excessive oiliness in other areas. The key is to treat your t-zone with oil-minimizing products and the dry areas with products that are hydrating and moisturizing.
Here are a few tips to help you maintain a beautiful and healthy complexion.
- Use a gentle, moisturizing cleanser that won’t dry out the skin.
- Use a mild toner.
- Exfoliate weekly
- Use an oil-free or mineral based foundation.
If your problem persists beyond your control, consult with a skin care specialist or your dermatologist. Do you have combinations skin? How do you treat it? Leave us a comment, we’d love to hear from you.
