Reinvention. Pivot. Transform. Whether we wanted to or not, 2020 has forced us to make changes in our lives.
As I pointed out last year, there’s an untruth about reinvention: that it’s about tossing out the “old” and exchanging it for something completely new. The power of reinvention, as we’ve learned, is that it’s in leveraging everything we’ve ever done—the successes and failures, the good, the bad, and the ugly.
For many of us, reinvention is not practical. On a very basic level, it’s daunting. Reinventing yourself however, actually thrives on the very real skills, insights, and expertise we have gained along the way. What is something new you’ve learned about yourself this past year? We’ve set out with a new goal in 2021: dual cover stories. Both Mary Mouser + Jaime Xie collectively represent this vision—fresh faces, resiliency + beauty. As always, my team and I have poured our hearts into these pages. The stories, the resources—they are all meant as motivation for you to live your most beautiful life. And although we are on uncharted waters still, here’s to creating the best possible outcomes for each of us in our personal + collective pursuit of joy.
