Living in Loungewear

Loungewear – the unsung hero of the year. Some would even say it’s the new formal wear of 2020. Thanks to the pandemic, we don’t necessarily have to dress up as much before. Or perhaps dressing up is now only reserved from the waist up. How many times have you rolled out of bed, turned on the laptop and started your day in your sleepwear in the last few months? Here are a few picks that can go from bed to the boardroom aka your dining table:

Zoom meeting approved. ThirdLove just launched their cashmere loungewear collection. Style the zip hoodie and jogger bottoms either as separates or as a set. Anything can look and feel luxurious when there is 100% cashmere involved and this set is no exception.  The zip hoodie has a relaxed fit, no-snag zipper and a drawstring hood. The joggers have a classic tapered leg, pockets and cuffed ankles. Both are available in a lightweight, heather grey that is effortless and chic at the same time.

It’s sweater weather and Flora Dancia has you covered. This family-owned loungewear brand is designed in San Francisco and handmade in Italy. While the whole collection includes cotton pajamas, slip nightgowns, short sets, and linen day dresses, they also have a few cozy cardigans too. The Clara Cardigan in camel is a soft loose, relaxed mid-calf cardigan in an alpaca-wool blend. The navy Ilaria Sweater Coat is a modern take on the car coat, in a wool-cashmere blend with a hi-low hem. Both are optimal to throw over anything from a T-shirt and jeans to a workout tank and leggings to polish your lounge look.

Bobi Los Angeles Curved Hem Dress with its rolled sleeves can definitely do double duty. The super soft jersey material makes it a great nightgown and the hidden pockets and curved hem make it stylish enough for a quick trip to the grocery store. It’s that little black dress that will become a staple to layer under or wear alone in warmer weather. Speaking of warmer weather – the dress is available in a similar shorter option (Rolled Cuff T-Shirt Dress) too.

Take your homeschool/WFH uniform to another level. Initial Apparel monograms comfy wardrobe staples, crewneck sweaters, for a truly collegiate look. The classic crewneck sweater has a dropped shoulder seam, ribbed cuffs and waistband.  They are made from a soft fleece and are available in three colourways: black, navy and charcoal. For personalized embroidery, choose between three different fonts, six thread colourways and two different positions of text (wrist or chest).  Perfect for expressing personal opinions or gifting that special someone.

The Canadian brand known for their PETA Vegan Approved outwear, NOIZE debuts their loungewear collection made from post-consumer recycled bottles. From the cropped Rylee to Matea boyfriend style, these T’s, hoodies and joggers are the epitome of what I imagine loungewear to be. Mix and match the separates to your monochrome hearts content. Or add a little tie-dye color too. Pair with the Andrea – Vegan Sherpa slides or the Denise – Vegan Fur slides for some extra coziness around the house.

Sant and Abel combine the relaxed lifestyles of both seaside cities, Sydney and Los Angeles for a brand that embodies the whimsical vacation-holiday spirit. Sant and Abel have collaborated with the world’s stylish brands, including CW StockwellTheir iconic Martinique® banana leaf pattern is one of the most recognizable wallpaper designs ever produced and is available in a variety of Women’s, Men’s and Kids styles including a matching eye mask. All in soft 100% French Cambric cotton. These traditional PJs may not pass as office workwear, but the fun print can help celebrate your Zoom-less WFH days.
