Local NYC-Based “BELLA” Crowned Ms. Puerto Rico Woman of Achievement for National Pageant

Representing Puerto Rico by way of Staten Island, NY is local “BELLA” Margarita Santiago. The Staten Island legal executive assistant was recently crowned Ms. Puerto Rico Woman of Achievement 2016 and will go on to represent the Island of Enchantment at the U.S. National Woman of Achievement pageant, which will be held November 3rd – 6th, 2016 on The Queen Mary historical ship in Long Beach, CA.

Ms. Santiago will compete with delegates from across the United States in Interview (25%), Platform Presentation (25%), Creative Expression/Speech (20%), Fitness (15%) and Evening Gown (15%). Winners receive thousands of dollars worth of awards, scholarships, prizes, and will be featured in national promotions. 

Born of Puerto Rican and Spanish heritage, Santiago epitomizes the “BELLA” spirit. As a leader and advocate in her community, she volunteers her time to local and national charitable organizations, including the American Diabetes Association, Tuesday’s Children, Have a Heart Adopt a Soldier, H&K Cares Program, H&K Opening Doors for Children, Care Resource Center, and The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

In addition to her full-time position at a prestigious law firm in NYC, Santiago also serves as a Reiki Master, is avid reader, and enjoys health and wellness endeavors, including kickboxing, fitness training, rollerblading, and salsa dancing.
