Models Doing More partnered with Pookie & Sebastian, to raise money for Tsunami Orphans in Sri Lanka this past week. The space was filled with Pink Pookie & Sebastian bags, Socialites, the Ambassador of Sri Lanka and even Titou… a prominent figure in fashion magazines and adorable Pomeranian to fashion photographer Paul Waters. New Yorkers shopped and showed support for Models Doing More as the staff of Pookie & Sebastian served wine and style.
Lauren Deckert founded Models Doing More, to create awareness and nurture the lives of impoverished children and abandoned animals of developing countries. As an international model, Lauren has graced the pages of Harper’s Bazaar China, Vogue Italia and more: allowing her to live the beautiful life filled with beautiful people. Exposure to other cultures gave Lauren a global appreciation for life, and she had sponsored children in various developing countries…including Ecuador.

However, that was not enough and Lauren founded Models Doing More in 2013. The immediate goals of Models Doing More are to provide water, food, education. Lauren brings “Model Ambassadors”, to developing countries and the orphanage in Sri Lanka. The ambassadors hope to teach the orphans entrepreneurship: so that the orphans can create a profitable farming community. Models Doing More has started a Crowd Fund through Volunteer Forever. Lauren and her team of “Model Ambassadors” hope to raise money and a continued awareness for impoverished children and abandoned animals worldwide.
There will be more events to come at Pookie and Sebastian, where a percentage of all purchases go to Models Doing More. We found some stunning white dresses and accessories for the summer, perfect for a white party. This August, Lauren and her team of “Model Ambassadors” will travel to Sri Lanka with the Sri Lanka Ambassador to continue their efforts.
