New York City College of Technology Develops Fashion Forward Academic Program Presented “Bryant Park at City Tech” Design Showcase on Friday, April 11, 2014 at 87 PM
The International Business Organization (IBO) in collaboration with the New York City College of Technology (City Tech) held it’s second annual fashion design showcase, “Bryant Park at City Tech” on Friday, (April 11) at 7:15 PM. The reaction from Press and Media as well as the general audience in attendance was that of a successful event. Based on the success of the previous event, this year’s event titled “A Night of Glamour” flaunted more elegant looks and complete designs. The show’s purpose continues to be student support for City Tech’s new academic expansion project that includes a four-year business fashion curriculum in addition to revamping the current two-year fashion-marketing program. Over 50 students helped develop the fashion event to emphasize the demand and interest in expanding the City Tech fashion program.
“Bryant Park at City Tech” showcased an “A Night of Glamour” theme featuring 105 designs created by 11 students in total (five of which are enrolled at City Tech, the remaining designers are CUNY students): Semani Atinkpahoun (City College, CUNY), Romel Brewster, Shadeeka Campbell (John Jay, CUNY), Kimberly Clark, Daisy Collado, Yvonne Jewnell (Parsons), Abigail Moreira (York College, CUNY), Lina Maria Muriel, Amy Robin, Simone Solomon and Rosalinda Sorto (Fashion Institute of Technology).
“Bryant Park at Citytech is an important milestone in the development of fashion opportunities for CUNY students. As the show matures in talent and popularity, I hope that the local fashion community continues to support the show and academia as Dr. Jays did last year and Bella NYC Magize did this year.” – Marcus Campbell, Community Manager
