I recently had the pleasure of dining at Gabriella’s Italian Steakhouse, in Red Bank, New Jersey. When I walked in, I was warmly greeted right away by a friendly hostess who helped us get seated promptly. The restaurant was chic – they had a beautiful bar area, classy cafeteria style tables, and a few sleek booths along the back wall overlooking the entire venue. Gabriella’s also has a beautiful outdoor dining area, perfect for the coming summer season. The restaurant also featured a glass wine closet and open kitchen, allowing for views of the wine collection, the chefs at work, and the food being prepared.
First and foremost, the menu was wonderful! I started my meal with a cocktail – the delicious pear martini. Our waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu, helpful in suggesting items to try, and never made us feel rushed – despite it being a busy Saturday evening. Upon his recommendation, we ordered the aged NY strip steak strip, with a side of garlic mashed potatoes and the veal chop parmigiana. The presentation was also spectacular, as they sliced the steak tableside, served on a cutting board, and paired with a side of spaghetti. The entire meal was a beautiful as it was delicious and the atmosphere felt like sitting in a fine-dining, New York City steakhouse, without having to leave New Jersey.
Gabriella Varshavsky, the owner of Gabriella’s, even touched our table to ask about our experience and how we enjoyed our meals. A young, yet extremely successful entrepreneur, Gabrielle also shared with us how she got started in the restaurant industry. She said she “fell in love with it at such a young age, while working for Patricia’s of Holmdel and Tao, a chic hotspot for dining in NYC.” Thankful for the tremendous amount of experience she gained working at two very successful establishments, Gabriella said that “everyone told her the restaurant business was the most difficult business out there,” but despite their cynicism she persisted and opened her namesake restaurant in 2019.
Our overall experience at Gabriella’s Italian Steakhouse was fantastic! It is an elegant mix of high-end steak cuts and traditional Italian favorites, making it a new go-to for a beautiful meal and ambiance. Not surprisingly, Gabriella’s vision is to open more restaurants and potentially expand her reach to hotels and resorts in the future.
Ultimately, if you’re looking for great service in an aesthetically pleasing venue, complete with high-end steaks, fresh seafood, traditional Italian dishes, and expertly curated cocktails, this restaurant over delivers. A unique, modern dining experience, without the hustle and bustle of New York City restaurants, Gabriella’s is a must-try!
