Pam’s Picks: If the Shoe Fits, Wear it … and Accessorize it for Every Season

By Pamela Pekerman

Finding the perfect shoe with the ideal arch, last and toe comfort is as monumental a task as finding the perfect man. If you choose wisely – like me – both will be there for you for as long as you shall live provided you take care of both (one will require a cobbler, the other, periodic, yet lengthy, massages).

However, in addition to fixing heels and cleaning leather, your sole mate could also use some accessorizing. Think of the below crop of shoe accessorize as Botox for your favorite footwear. Rather than buy sky-high boots or an embellished pump, take your existing go-to shoes and reimagine them in fall’s hottest fashions.

Heel Condoms

Whether you want to indulge in a here-today-gone-tomorrow style, or simply travel with one pair of heels and accessorize them to appear differently, Heel Condoms are your protection from footwear boredom. For fall, I recommend the Gaga Gold for those looking to mimic the embellished, regal styles seen on Dolce&Gabbana’s runway. Or, try Tribal Feathers and flock with fashion’s infatuation with birds, as seen at Nicole Miller, Marni, Alberta Ferretti and Just Cavalli.

What if you could take your existing boots and dress them up in fall’s knitwear and fur trend? Now you can, with Hugrz boot wraps. I’ve been obsessed with this ingenious product since its launch in 2011 because I refuse to buy furry boots. It’s just not something I can commit to and justify. However, faux fur wraps under $50? That’s a game changer.

Tainted Pepper

If you have ever struggled with finding the perfect over-the-knee boot that truly looks like second skin, Tainted Pepper’s leather leg mates are for you. Made to measure, these leather leg wear accessories can be worn with your existing shoes or booties to complete that Jennifer Lopez fashion fantasy you’ve always envisioned. Wait, that’s me thinking out loud! You can choose from three styles: Janai (elastic thigh high), Nohemi (over-the-knee high), and Somina (thigh high).
