Pop It: Adult Stocking Stuffers

Let’s face it. Candy is nice, but alcohol is nicer. Adults deserve treats in their stockings just as much as the kids do, and we’ve got the best canned beverages to sneak under the mantel this year.

VINNY Wines – Founded by a sommelier, and wine director at The Nomad Hotel, VINNY Wines is a canned wine that won’t make you cringe. Available in single serve cans, this brand makes it easy to simply have a ‘glass’ of wine without opening up an entire bottle. Their Blanc wine is a white mix of Grüner Veltliner and dry riesling, and their rosé is a blend of cabernet franc, pinot gris and dry Riesling. Not only are they good solo, but they are absolutely bomb in cocktails.

Devils Backbone Brewing Company – Make your holidays merry and bright with their Tangerine Sparkling Ale. All of the allure of a beer with only a little of the guilt (no need to fret about being on Santa’s naughty list this year); this gluten-free ale clocks in at only 90 calories a can. And don’t discount it for being too fruity and sweet – it is neither. In fact, it’s the perfect drink to toast with on Christmas morning!

Flying Embers – I never knew I needed hard kombucha in my life until I tried Flying Embers. This handcrafted kombucha comes with all the live probiotics you’ve come to love from the non-alcoholic version, with the added benefit of giving you a buzz. The sparkling tea alcoholic beverage is organic, gluten-free and contains zero sugar, giving you a healthier alternative when it comes to drinking. It currently comes in six different flavors — Ancient Berry, Grapefruit Thyme, Lemon Orchard, Pineapple Chili and Ginger & Oak. They also give 1% of their profits to firefighters in Southern California, where they are headquartered.

Guinness Over The Moon Milk Stout This new brew will give both lovers and haters of Guinness something to talk about. While some people cannot get enough of the famous Irish nitro-brewed malt beer, others find it to be a bit much, but this recently launched milk stout is unlikely to find any naysayers. This sweeter brew has strong mocha and chocolate notes, reminiscent of an Irish coffee, except in beer form. The delicious new addition to the Guinness lineup pays homage to 1930 and 1950 Guinness campaigns and is a fun treat for any stocking.

Stella Artois Spritzer We all love Stella, both their beer and their cider, and earlier this year they debuted their crisp and light spritzer. The cider is made from apples and hibiscus and the perfect stocking stuffer for anyone avoiding gluten who doesn’t want to sacrifice flavor. It has a very low ABV (only 3.5%) and is not as sweet as their traditional cider, giving white wine spritzers a run for their money.
Monopolio Lager Negra While this Mexican beer has been around since the late 1800s, it hasn’t always been readily available in the states. The handcrafted amber lager is the perfect sip, with balanced hops and caramel flavors. It’s companion, the Lager Clara, a blond lager, is a bit lighter but equally satisfying, and makes a great gift for any craft beer lover, especially if they love trying international brews.
Heineken 0.0 For those who don’t imbibe, there’s a new alcohol-free beer on the market from Heineken. The brew, which is only 69 calories, has all the fruity, malty flavors you’ve come to love from their traditional beer without the alcohol content. The refreshing beverage is a great addition to any stocking!
