Make sure you take time to really moisturize and hydrate your skin before applying makeup. This will guarantee a healthy and flawless finished look. I love using La Mer’s Renewal Oil andLa Mer’s Moisturizing Soft Cream.

PRO TIP: Let the skin absorb your product for at least 10 minutes before applying any other products to create the perfect canvas for your glowy look.

A light, medium coverage foundation is the secret to getting a glowy look. If you’re dry, choose a hydrating primer to give you that extra bit of nourishment for the skin. I love La Mer’s Soft Fluid Long Wear Foundation. If you’re oily, you can still use a hydrating foundation, but to keep skin from looking too dewy, apply a setting powder in super oily areas like the center of the forehead, the chin and the cheeks.

PRO TIP: Use a fluffy powder brush so you don’t apply too much powder and make the skin too matte.

I love a glossy, glowy eye look—it’s very editorial and easy to create. I love a bronzy, shimmery brown eye shadow—there are so many available for a variety of skin tones. A favorite of mine is Laura Mercier’s Caviar Stick Eye Color in copper. It’s super easy to use and is buildable depending on your personal preference. For next-level glow, I love adding the smallest amount of Face Gloss by Patrick Ta Beauty. It’s a universal product that can be placed on the eyes, cheeks, and lips and will give a gorgeous, luminous glow that is wet looking, but not sticky or tacky.

For glowy skin that isn’t one-dimensional, I love using a cream blush to bring not only color to the skin, but another layer of glow. I created Patrick Ta Beauty Double-Take Creme and Powder Blush for this very purpose. I like to apply the powder first and then the creme to enhance the color and give skin a luminous finish.

My top tip for applying highlight correctly is to apply it along the top of the cheekbones, peak of your nose, peak of forehead, and cupid’s bow. Those are the best areas to place the product because that’s where sunlight would naturally hit the skin and make it shine naturally—and that’s the ideal glowing skin look we’re after. Never apply highlighter all over your face, because you will look like a disco ball—especially in photos.

PRO TIP: I put products like highlighter on the back of my hand first, so I can make sure it is nice and even. It also ensures you don’t overdo it, because you can tap out a little bit and always add more. Then, I take a clean, damp makeup sponge and go over where I just placed the highlight to really push the product into the skin and blend everything together. Also, if you’ve applied too much highlighter, you can use the clean side of the sponge and dab off the excess product. And remember, there’s a huge difference between looking oily and dewy—you only want to look dewy The areas that can make you look oily are your smile lines, chin, and the center of your forehead. Don’t use any highlighter on those areas, opt instead for a translucent powder.

If I’m focusing on glowing skin, I like to do more of a matte lip, using a suede or velvet-textured lipstick. I love to tie the look together with a similar lip shade, like the Patrick Ta Beauty Monochrome Silky Lip Créme. It’s matte but feels so creamy and moisturizing on the lips.

If you’re going for a glowy look on the face, you can’t have a dull body. I love adding highlight and glossiness to the skin to really make it pop and exude healthy skin. You can use any kind of illuminating body product; my favorite is Patrick Ta Major Glow Body Oil. It’s full of vitamin C, olive oil, and squalane to give skin a youthful appearance and all-day hydration and moisture.
