Result of two shared passions: B&G Limited Edition Bordeaux Red by Woo

That there is a connection between wine and art is not new. As the famous winemaker Robert Mondavi used to say, “Making good wine is a skill, making fine wine is an art”. The award-winning French winery Barton & Guestier is now giving this connection a whole new meaning by announcing an artistic collaboration with French artist Woo Ghost.

Barton & Guestier was founded in Bordeaux in 1725 by Thomas Barton and has guaranteed consistent quality and style ever since. The collaboration with multidisciplinary artist Woo, who’s halfway between street art and calligraphy, is the result of two shared passions: art and wine. The B&G Limited Edition Bordeaux Red by Woo is designed to bring the consumer closer to these passions and embrace the French “Art of Living”.

The painting by Woo, featured on the limited edition, shows the artist’s signature style on the label as an ode to Germain Rambaud, the first cellar master of Barton & Guestier from the 18th century. Woo’s deep connection with the elegance of oriental alphabets is expressed in his productions with unique calligraphic elements. A close look at the bold gold details reveals the letters B & G.

The wine is distinguished by a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cabernet Franc, produced principally in the Entre Deux Mers and the right bank of the Gironde estuary, farmed in diverse terroirs and Oceanic and mild climate. The vinification process includes controlled extraction including three weeks of maceration with daily pumping over. Aged for 6 months in oak, the Limited Edition Bordeaux Red is a rich 2020 vintage with brilliant ruby-red color.

On the nose, red and black berries are combined with spicy and toasty notes. On the palate, the wine is fruit-driven with a good balance of round and velvety tannins and a long fruity, and spicy finish. The wine goes best with roasted chicken, a cheeseburger, or pizza.

Barton & Guestier has made their Varietal wines from the main french wine-growing regions accessible in more than 130 countries, while still prioritizing health and environmental protection. The limited edition Bordeaux will be available online and in select New York, Florida, and Texas retail stores this December.
