We all love the magic of Christmas in New York City and one major must-see is, of course, the Rockefeller Christmas Tree that sits looking out over the winter ice rink this year at 72-feet tall, it is sure to get even the biggest Christmas Grinch into the festive spirit. However, there are a number of other incredible Christmas Trees around for you to discover and we have rounded them up into some of the best, that will definitely be worth a visit this holiday season.

Christmas at the Capitol (Pierre, SD)

Travelers to the Mount Rushmore State can view almost 90 beautiful Christmas trees on display at Christmas at the Capitol in Pierre, South Dakota. The centerpiece of the annual celebration is the official South Dakota Christmas tree, which is decorated with colorful ornaments and large pine-cone balls made by many Black Hills locals. This year’s Grand Lighting Ceremony took place on November 21 and the display runs through December 25, 2018. Visitors can stop by for special events through the holiday season, including Pie Day on December 8, from 11am – 3pm. 

The Convention Hall Christmas Tree (Asbury Park, NJ)

Get into the festive spirit this year in Asbury Park and experience the excitement at the iconic Convention Hall Christmas Tree, which is grown in the same farm as Rockefeller Center’s tree. Standing 30 feet tall, this tree is one of the tallest indoor trees in the country, and the annual lighting ceremony features live music and a visit from Santa. After a tree viewing, visitors can pop over to the newly reopened Asbury Lanes to bowl a few strikes and indulge in delicious diner food. Travelers can ring in 2019 at the Lanes’ special event, WXPN Welcomes Hop Along – New Year’s Eve Show. In addition to these festivities, the 110-room Asbury Hotel offers on-site ice skating and a cozy home base for guests to keep warm; featuring public spaces like The Pit, a giant, sunlit living room with huge sofas, board games and well-stocked bookshelves.

Mayor’s Christmas Tree (Kansas City, MO)

The official holiday kickoff in Kansas City was November 23 with the lighting of the Mayor’s Christmas Tree at the Crown Center, the 85-acre entertainment center in the heart of the city. Following a long journey from Oregon, the 100-foot tree illuminated the day after Thanksgiving acting as a symbol for the Mayor’s Christmas Tree Fund, which benefits the Kansas City’s less fortunate residents. After the holidays, the wood is repurposed to be commemorative ornaments, which are sold the following year to benefit the Mayor’s Christmas Tree Fund. This year’s ornament, “All Aboard,” was designed by Hallmark Keepsake artist Matt Johnson and is available for $13.95. While visiting Crown Center, families can ice-skating at the Crown Center’s famous Ice Terrace, which this year is celebrating its 46th year.

The Tree at Sea Island, Georgia

Start celebrating Christmas by visiting Sea Island‘s Christmas Tree. Guests can enjoy the holiday cheer by visiting for Sea Island’s five-day Christmas celebrations filled with carolers, gingerbread houses, elf tuck-ins and a Christmas Day snowball fight! Snow Dome Christmas Tree at One Aldwych 

This holiday season, guests at One Aldwych will be warmly greeted in the Lobby Bar by a dazzling Snow Dome Christmas Tree. The towering white 25-foot tree features 130 snow domes among natural birch twigs and twinkly, sparkling lights. Each snow dome contains charming miniature yuletide scenes meticulously hand-made by the hotel’s resident florist Mark Siredzuk. Accompanying the Christmas tree are five Festive Showtime Cocktails, inspired by the hotel’s Covent Garden Theatreland location including Jungle Bells, Father Negroni and Mulled Berries.
