Miami is a weekend destination for many of us on the Eastern Seaboard, with just a short 3-hour flight we can be there faster than driving most places (with traffic) in New York.
Here are some must-see spots to check out while you’re there!
The Shelborne – 1801 Collins Ave. Miami Beach, FL.
This modern, yet vintage-chic hotel is the epitome of Miami. From the 1960s art-deco facade welcoming you into this luxurious hotel to the hotel bar towards the back, equipped with a sophisticated library nook, perfect for sipping cocktails (and Instagram photoshoots.) My personal favorite part? The pool. From the design to the setup, to the vibe; with pool-house music playing in the background, attentive servers and cascading waterfall from the diving board. The best place to relax while still getting that party-vibe of Miami. My recommendation? Definitely get the Bloody Mary by the pool, it will change your life!
The Wharf Miami – 114 SW North River Drive Miami, FL.
If you’re like me and have grown out of the days of LIV, and partying until the suns up, definitely check out The Wharf while in Miami. This daytime destination is located on the Miami River, the goal was to find a middle ground between an upscale lounge and expensive eatery, with an outdoor experience. The Wharf hosts numerous music performances, theme nights and food festivals; meaning you’ll never get the same experience twice! Lots of locals hang out here too, so it’s a lot less tourist-y than most are used to!
Kiki on The River
Kiki on the River – 450 NW North River Dr. Miami, FL.
Located not far down the road from The Warf is Kiki on The River, this delicious Greek spot that’s off the beaten path as well. The high-energy restaurant provides you will a party experience while serving delicious, authentic, yet modern, Greek cuisine. The food is only complimented by the beautiful decor, lush greenery and wicker chairs are sprinkled throughout the indoor-outdoor venue. My personal favorite spot in the restaurant is across from the bar, but closest to the docks, I like to keep my eye out for who’s pulling up. I recommend ordering a bunch of small bites for the table, my favorites; saganaki, the grilled octopus and lemon potatoes!
