This September, a tribute to Karl Lagerfeld and his love for the classic white shirt will come to life during Paris Fashion Week. ‘The White Shirt Project’ reimagines Lagerfeld’s signature garment, and features a number of personalized designs from some of his closest friends. This includes pieces by Gigi Hadid, Kate Moss, Tommy Hilfiger, and Cara Delevingne, just to name a few. The most recent addition to this lineup is none other than British artist Endless, who will be showcasing his original design among the celebrated group of creatives as well.
The young artist has always viewed Lagerfeld as a source of inspiration, and previously collaborated with the Karl Lagerfeld brand for their SS20 collection launch earlier this year. With Karl’s love for simplicity in mind, Endless decided to design his shirt using a classic palette of black, white, silver, and grey. His signature street-art techniques, including spray painting and stencil work, make the shirt both graphic and unique, while still providing a sense of uniformity. A portrait of Karl can be found on the back of the shirt, serving as the focal point of the overall design. The piece also includes a magnificent mirrored material which is often used to attract the human eye.
All designs, including Endless’, will debut on September 25th at the Maison Karl Lagerfeld. A seven-piece collection will be available for purchase the following day, sold exclusively at karl.com and farfetch.com. All funds generated from the collection will go directly to the Sauver la Vie charity at Paris Descartes University.
