Travel Back in Time at the TWA Hotel’s New Roller Rink

Since its opening in the spring of 2019, the TWA Hotel – located at JFK Airport – has served as a time machine back to the sixties. Previously a flight center, TWA has been reimagined into a convenient airport hotel, outfitted with retro vibes, photo ops, and the biggest hotel gym in the world.

Now those who are traveling in and out of New York City have even more to look forward to with the hotel’s seasonal Roll-A-Rama Runway Rink, which is now open until November. Every weekend, visitors will be able to skate to their favorite retro tunes on the 44-by-56 outdoor rink, parked right next to “Connie,” an airplane turned cocktail lounge (definitely add a pit stop for a drink into your itinerary.)

Guests are welcome to bring their own skates, but those without are able to rent them on site, which are included with every 50-minute skate. Skate sessions cost $20 per adult and $16 per child under 12 years old. And don’t worry, TSA allows your roller skates in both carry-on and checked luggage. And if that’s not enough, you can also make sure to look the part with TWA branded tube socks, tracksuits and caps, all sold at the rink and at The TWA Shop inside the hotel.

Roll-A-Rama Runway Rink is open on Fridays from 4-8pm and Saturday and Sundays from 12-8pm, weather permitting.
