Woodloch Resort Re-Opens June 5, Issues Safety Guidelines

After months of dealing with stay-at-home orders, travel restrictions, mass quarantines and governmental shutdowns, hotels and resorts in popular tourist destinations are slowly but surely beginning to welcome guests once again, albeit with new guidelines in place. Hospitality officials have put safety and well-being at the top of their priority list and have gone to great lengths to ensure that they are abiding by all governmental mandates. In most cases they have surpassed these guidelines.

Woodloch Resort, located in the pristine Lake Region of the Pocono Mountains, will re-open on June 5, 2020. A two-hour drive from Manhattan, the resort has been a favorite vacation destination for New York residents since its inception in 1958. Woodloch Pines, a quintessential family resort within the sprawling Woodloch complex, will somewhat modify the vacation experience in order to adhere to safety and wellness guidelines. However, it will be delivered in the same heartfelt manner that guests have come to expect.

“We want to make special note that this guidance and modification is designed to be very temporary and as we move into the summer, the plan for July and August will be different as the guidance we receive loosens daily,” notes Bradley Kiesendahl, C.E.O. of Woodloch Pines.  “Maintaining the health and safety of our guests and staff is of paramount importance to us, and we are committed to going above and beyond to protect them during these unprecedented times. Since we first opened the core elements of the Woodloch experience have always been togetherness and fun. Although we have had to make some adjustments during these unprecedented times, we remain more dedicated than ever to offering that same experience and delivering our tradition of excellence and warm hospitality.”

Currently in the “Yellow Phase” until June 19, Woodloch’s 1,500 acres provide ample green space for guests to enjoy the expansive and fresh outdoors, including three walking trails. The lakefront will be open and lawn chairs will be spread out to adhere to social distancing guidelines. Paddle boats, kayaks and row boats will all be available and there will be a “RETURN” side and a “CLEAN” side to allow for appropriate sanitizing. Golfers can enjoy Woodloch’s 18-hole championship course which winds its challenging way over 6,579 yards. A 9-18 hole course simulator plus a virtual Driving Range allow golfers the opportunity to improve their games during the off season or even during inclement weather throughout the year. Other activities that will adhere to social distancing guidelines include an outdoor movie night, cupcake wars, scavenger hunts, hot shot sports and trivia games. Widely known for delectable family style dining, all meals will be take-out only during the Yellow Phase.

Guests can choose from a variety of accommodations, including hotel-style units that feature two queen beds and a double pullout couch in one large room, with a view towards the lake complete with private balcony or patio. A two-bedroom Mountain Laurel Country Suite has two bedrooms, one with two queen beds, the second bedroom has two queen beds and a double pullout couch, and the living room has one queen pullout couch and one regular couch.  Each two-bedroom suite will have two private balconies or patios with a view towards the lake. The Lake Estates are a group of four large and spacious vacation rentals located at the Woodloch Pines property. Each home has five bedrooms and five-and-a-half bathrooms. The Southwoods Vacation Rentals are also four large homes located at Woodloch Pines in a private cul-de-sac opposite the Lake Estates. These homes feature four to six bedrooms and either four-and-a-half or six-and-a-half bathrooms. All of these homes are tri-level and located on the resort’s shuttle route. They boast cathedral ceilings, a fireplace and rear deck. Woodloch Springs Vacation Rentals are located two miles from the main resort property at the championship golf course community. These homes range in size from two to five bedrooms and all have kitchens with pots, pans, dishes and silverware. Each home also has a deck or porch complete with a gas grill and barbecue utensils.

The Woodloch promise is to:

  • Maintain aggressive cleaning protocols throughout the facility by cleaning and sanitizing,
  • Administer health assessments to all staff prior to their shift starting,
  • Adhere to social distancing guidelines established for our facility,
  • Provide readily available hand sanitizer or hand washing stations,
  • Train all our employees on the necessary measures that ensure the safety of our guests and staff,
  • Use masks and personal protective equipment, where and when practical to do so,
  • Provide as much of the Woodloch experience and modify what we must to ensure the Woodloch magic,
  • Be here for you. If you need anything at all, we’re here to assist in making your experience the best that it can be.

In return, they ask that guests practice good hygiene, wear your mask when interacting with those other than your party, be conscientious of those around you, follow social distancing guidelines and respect the experience of others.

Woodloch is one of the country’s most inviting family resorts with a philosophy of bringing people together for an experience they will always remember. It’s the reason generations of families return year after year.
